Ice Camel Tribute has 6 members with a big passion for progressive rock.

As the leadsinger of Ice, the ultimate Camel tribute band, I try to bring the magic of Camel to life on stage. With a deep passion for the progressive rock we ensure that fans can fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere and emotion of the music. In addition to my role in Ice, I am also the lead vocalist for the Marillion tribute band Dry Land, which further fuels my passion for symphonic rock. Our goal with Ice is to deliver a unique, authentic Camel experience at every show, captivating both long-time fans and new listeners alike.

The man who can do everything (a bit). Perhaps all the bands I’ve played in so far, and there must be dozens of them by now, were a preparation for this adventure. I love playing the beautiful flute melodies of Andy Latimer and feel very lucky that the ICE, The Camel Factor, makes that possible.
Classically trained at the time that Camel released its legendary albums, Camel, Mirage, The Snowgoose and Moonmadness, I always dreamed that this opportunity would present itself. Moreover, for this modest player in the Northern Dutch Jazz scene, it is a well a challenge as an honour to follow in the footsteps of the great Mel Collins and sink my teeth into the over the top parts of Pete Jones.
*Cornel Leydekkers – Keyboardist of Ice*
Cornel already played in Genesis cover band “What’s The Connection” during his student days. Later this formation from Bussum started playing songs from other groups in this genre. When the singer left, this became the band “Coax”, with instrumental work.
He then played in several top 40 bands, but after a few years he got tired of acting as “musical wallpaper” at noisy parties. He joined “Mach 5”, a tribute band that played work by The Flying Colors. When this ceased to exist, he became keyboardist for the Fish-era Marillion tribute band Fugazi. This also stopped at a certain point, so he continued looking for a band in this genre. So that became ICE.

As the guitarist of Ice: the Camel Tribute, I feel privileged to be able to step into the shoes of one of my favorite guitarists, Andy Lathimer. Besides Ice I play in Dry Land, a Marillion Tribute, which of course leans towards Camel. Prog is my passion and Camel in particular. I think it’s a great challenge to approach Andy’s sound and feel.
*Ronald Peet – Drummer of Ice*
Ronald started playing drums at the age of 14, inspired by progressive rock bands such as the Dutch band Solution, Genesis, and Camel. His early career took him into top 40 cover bands, where he regularly performed at weddings and parties until the age of 30. After this intensive period, he hung up his drum sticks and took a 25-year break. When the music started calling again, he emerged in a big soul and funk formation. He now shows his versatility in a Top2000 band and is the drummer in a funky cover band inspired by Scary Pockets. Now Ronald has found his roots again and is all the way back to the beginning as a drummer in the Camel tribute band Ice.

In high school I started as a bass player in a school band. In the mid-80s I played in a Metal band and in the mid-90s in a Doom band. After that I didn’t play in bands for a while, but occasionally did projects like ‘Zwolle Gaat Vreemd’.
I picked up the bass again during the Corona and started looking for something new. And Ice was just that. Camel is completey new music for me. A wonderful challenge.
